Safe Handling of Bathroom Chemicals

Most of us have had the pleasure of cleaning the bathroom. We go to the store and buy all kinds of cleaning agents, lock ourselves in the bathroom, and away we go. We finish cleaning and that's it. But, there is something you've probably over looked because you haven't had any immediate health problems as a result of cleaning the bathroom. I want to talk about using a mask when using bathroom cleaning chemicals.

I'm sure you had those times where you put a cleaning agent in to the toilet bowl and then evacuate the bathroom because the chemicals are so hard for your nose. Unfortunately, it is these chemicals which cause the most damage. There have been cases where toilet bowl cleaners were mixed, which created deadly gases, and have actually killed people. So let's learn from their mistakes. Never mix cleaning chemicals together.

Another point I want to get across is to use a protective mask or respirator. The bathroom is such a small space, and even if the windows, vents, and doors are open, it can still cause a lot of damage to your health over time. An organic cartridge respirator can help reduce your exposure to these toxic fumes. But don't rely on the respirator alone, it is still very important to have proper ventilation.

It just simply isn't enough to ignore the momentary fumes of cleaning the bathroom. These chemicals cause brain damage and many other side effects. If you are worried about using such cleaning agents, perhaps natural cleansers would do better. Diluted vinegar and citrus juices work wonders, since they are both acids. Think about what your being exposed to the next time your cleaning your bathroom.
